She attended Kilgore College where she was a member of the Rangerettes and served as Lieutenant her sophomore year. She was also a member of the Swingsters specialty jazz group. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and was captain of the two-time National Champion Pom Squad. For the past 13 years, Shelly has been a senior instructor and choreographer for Starmakers Dance Camps and has taught dance at various dance studios in the Tyler area.

Chris Johnston is in his 15 th year of teaching at Chapel Hill High School where he was a former coach for ten years. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He has been the owner of his own woodworking business, J and J Woodworks, for 6 years. He has built various drill team and theater props, including props for the Kilgore College Rangerettes.

Chris & Shelly Johnston reside in Whitehouse, Texas and have a daughter, Maci Claire.
